Father Jeffery Fasching Health Update

Feb 24 Health Update

Father Fasching has an important update to share. First and foremost, he wishes to extend his heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers, Mass intentions, letters, and donations via Venmo, Give Send Go, and mail. He is deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from all of you.

Your prayers are making a difference!

Father Fasching’s infection is now under control, and his white blood cell count has improved! A recent scope performed over the weekend showed that his stomach tumor has slightly shrunk after the first round of chemotherapy. It is indeed working! Thanks be to God.

However, the tumor still poses a significant obstruction, preventing Father Fasching from eating or drinking, so he will continue to receive nutrition through a tube. Fortunately, he has managed to gain a couple of pounds despite experiencing daily vomiting. Please continue to pray that he gains more weight and that the nausea subsides.

Father Fasching has been enduring significant pain in his stomach and esophagus, which doctors have diagnosed as infectious ulcers. They are currently devising a plan to address this issue.

This morning, the doctors informed Father Fasching that they will likely discharge him tomorrow. Bishop Kemme has graciously agreed to Father Fasching’s request, and he will be staying at the Wichita Priest Retirement Center, where he will receive the care he needs.

Note that the “GiveSendGo” page has been operational for nearly 4 years and $10,000 of the funds collected were from years ago to assist Father Fasching.

Feb 15 Health Update

A few days ago, we shared that Father Fasching, a canceled priest, was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer. He remains in a hospital in Arkansas where his diagnosis has now been updated to Large B cell lymphoma. This is better news as it is a less aggressive form of lymphoma. He will not need surgery, but chemotherapy treatment.

They have inserted a feeding tube for nourishment and a nasal tube to stop the vomiting. Please pray for Father Fasching’s recovery, especially that he regains some of the weight he has lost.

Feb 10 Health Update

Father Fasching was on his way, moving to Missouri to care for his ailing parents who are in their 90s when due to his own failing health had to divert to a hospital.  It is there in that Arkansas hospital that they diagnosed Father Fasching with stomach cancer.  He is immediately undergoing chemotherapy treatment.  He is quite sick, but he is spiritually strong.  Father Altman will be visiting Father Fasching in the hospital on Tuesday, February 11, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, to administer the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick to Father Fasching.

We are asking for the faithful to offer your prayers for Father Fasching’s healing, through the intercession of St. Peregrine.  You may write to him to offer your kind words.  Please email CUP @ CUP@corpuschristiforunityandpeace.org to receive Father Fasching’s new mailing address.

Please would you also consider offering financial support?  Father Fasching has now been canceled for four years without his salary and will experience high medical bills.  We would be very grateful for your financial help.

About Father Jeffery Fasching

Fr. Jeffery Fasching, has an unwavering devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and commitment to the Traditional Latin Mass that has left an indelible mark on the faithful.

Fr. Fasching was ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 1997, in the Diocese of Wichita, Kansas. After serving as an associate pastor in several parishes within the Diocese of Wichita, he received permission to serve in the Springfield, Missouri diocese, where his parents reside. There, Fr. Fasching dedicated himself to the Latin Mass community, celebrating the ancient liturgy with reverence.

Fr. Fasching studied under Fr. Chad Ripperger in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 2016, he returned to the Diocese of Wichita, serving as Pastor in Halstead and Fredonia. His homilies—authentic and orthodox—resonated with many yet led to his removal from his last assignment due to his unwavering convictions.

In Fr. Fasching, we find a priest whose love for the Eucharist burns brightly—a living testimony to the Real Presence. He adores our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament of the tabernacle for many hours each day, not out of duty, but out of love.
